Nnedi Okorafor : One Way Witch

This is the second book of the „She Who Knows“ series. My review to book one can be found here: https://text.tchncs.de/cedara/h2nnedi-okorafor-she-who-knows-h2

Caveat for sensitive readers: Rape is mentioned in the book.

The book starts with Najeeba‘s daughter Onyesonwu having left the village she was living in with her mother. Again, the story is told through Najeeba‘s eyes, including how her daughter changed the world when she was killed. Basically, the book tells the story as to how Najeeba learns to become a witch. This might seem simple but in reality, it‘s a story of growth, atonement and dealing with change.

Again, Nnedi Okorafor manages to write a story that is an easy read even for a non-native English reader and I found it fascinating. So much, that I now pre-ordered book 3 to see how the story continues.
