Zvezda transfer Seol Young-woo scores 'magic girl goal' in Europe after just two games

Seol Young-woo, 25, scored his debut goal for Serbian League FK Zvezda in the summer transfer window after just two games.

Seol opened the scoring in the fourth round of the 2024-2025 Serbian Superliga against Novi Pazar at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade, Serbia, on Nov. 11 (local time), scoring the game-winning goal in the European stage. The team went on to win 4-1.

With their second straight win, Zvezda are now unbeaten in their opening four matches (three wins, one draw) and lead the league with 10 points.

For the second straight match, Seol started at left fullback. He opened the scoring with a right-footed mid-range shot in the ninth minute of the first half at 0-0. He made his Superliga debut on April 4 against Tekstilac Odzac in the third round of the league.

Zvezda equalized six minutes into the second half, but then scored three more goals to secure the three-goal victory.

Teammate Hwang In-beom also played the full 90 minutes. While he didn't register an offensive point, he did set up the team's fourth goal in the 41st minute when he sent a loose pass down the left flank. Peter Oleynka connected with a cross that Jose Luis Rodriguez, who was in the goal area, headed home.

Meanwhile, Seol Young-woo joined Zvezda on June 30 from Ulsan HD.

Born in 1998, Seol can play both fullback positions. Prior to joining Zvezda, he played his entire professional career with Ulsan.

Seol made a name for himself on October 18, 2020, when he made a surprise start in the East Coast Derby against Ulsan's arch-enemy Pohang Steelers. His flawless performance in the match not only earned him a starting spot in his debut season, but also the Young Player Award (Rookie of the Year).

In total, he played 120 K League 1 games for Ulsan, scoring five goals and adding 11 assists.
