sadert's blog for things related to development

I've been doing a lot of random things recently, and I haven't really posted on my blog in a while. I'll explain what I've been doing here.

Today, I submitted a request to join a tilde community. I've also been testing a Mastodon bot.

I plan on making more projects with some friends later. To be honest, I've made no progress on anything productive. Just a few small things here and there.

I have added some more updates to Main, and now I feel like I'm making it very Undertale-like. So far, there is now more to the city path, and there is now a nonfunctional shop (it will be functional soon™). I have many more ideas planned for this and I hope bash has enough functionality for it.

Like last time, you can get main right now (for linux) on my Codeberg: https://codeberg.org/s4119/main

My top 5 reason why gim:

  • gim is gim
  • gim
  • vm didnt even fight with gim
  • maybe gim will let you back in
  • gim

Recently, I've been working on my text-based bash game, Main. It's quite a strange idea and the name (and overall idea) came from me creating a file, main.sh. I didn't know what I wanted to do with it so I put some ASCII art saying “MAIN” and decided to make it a game.

The overall idea I've had for it is a game inside of a game. You begin in a house, with obvious bad grammar such as “{player} in house.” After finding the right path (no spoilers ◠‿・), you get stopped by a guard asking you if you have a legal copy of the game. Obviously, this is a joke, as the game is open source. But if you say yes, you will successfully cross a bridge, and so far, that's all I've come up with.

The unfinished product is on my Codeberg: https://codeberg.org/s4119/main
